How it works
You enter your address
Type your website address, with or without https://. No account is needed.
I look at the public page
My server visits the page the way any visitor would. It checks the secure connection, some basic settings behind the scenes, how fast the server answers, and whether the links on the page work. Google's PageSpeed tool then measures mobile speed.
You get a plain-English report
You see a score, the things most worth fixing first, and a full list of checks. Each one explains why it matters and how to fix it.
What this does not do
I would rather be upfront about the limits of a free quick check.
- It is a quick automated check, not a full audit or a security review.
- It only reads public information. It does not log in, look behind a password or touch your site's admin area.
- It does not scan for viruses or malware, and it cannot tell whether your site has been hacked.
- It cannot see plugin or theme versions, so it cannot tell you what is out of date.
More limits (3)Hide extra limits
- It cannot confirm that your contact form works or that its emails reach your inbox. It can only tell you whether a form appears to be there.
- Speed is measured from my server and from Google's test lab. Real visitors on slower phones or networks may see different results.
- It reads the page address you enter (usually your homepage) and does not run its scripts, so content added by JavaScript after the page loads may not be seen.
